In a couple of weeks time we’re hosting an exhibition of the amazing work of our good friend Niels Oeltjen (aka Nails) in our studio.

All are welcome to join us on the 6th of May from 6pm to admire the mans works, inspect our pot plants, share a laugh and a cold drink or two. Spread the word.

As a 15 year old, Raymond Arnold was given his first proper set of paints by ‘‘the thinnest man I ever knew’’ – a former prisoner of war in a Japanese camp.

In our university years at the Tasmanian School of Art, Raymond Arnold was an incredibly inspirational lecturer and mentor. Yesterday Raymond won the Gallipoli Art Prize for his work The dead march here today (pictured above). Today, the inspirational force is as strong as ever. Congratulations Ray.

I had the pleasure of stumbling into Flinders Lane Gallery earlier in the week to encounter the work of Terri Brooks. Seeing is believing.

GO FONT UR SELF* is dedicated to exploring and pushing the diverse range of techniques employed in type design of past, present and future through original pieces of work from talented typographers worldwide. Great site and interesting blog. Exhibition of works by the likes of Mike Perry and Emil Kozak opening this coming thursday at Don’t Come in Melbourne.

We’ve just got back a fantastic job from the printer and the bookbinder. A catalogue of works from the Wardlow gallery artist in residence Stephan Balleux.

The book is 74 pages, pad bound with a thick leather cover; embossed with a black foil, handmade by the clever folks at Irwin & McLaren. It’s a real pleasure to work with craftsmen (and women!) who are dedicated to preserving the tradition and craft of binding.

I’ve got a pair of hand painted skate decks in this years No Comply skate deck art show. The show includes 170 individual pieces by 80 artists.
